Dear friends and colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to invite you to Tallinn for the XVIII Biennial European Union for School and University Health and Medicine Congress and to the annual Estonian Health Promotion Conference to be held on June 4-5, 2015 in Tallinn.
The Congress “Mental Wellbeing of Children and Youth – a shared responsibility” is centred on the mental health promotion and prevention of children and young people.
The joint congress offers a unique opportunity to raise visibility about the importance of promoting mental health and well-being of children and to map the scientific evidence and the best practices relevant for the implementation of effective actions.  The congress will bring together decision-makers, researchers and practitioners from the health, education and social sectors; organizers of health care; psychologists; government, nongovernment, local and academic institutions from Estonia and European countries.
International collaboration, sharing our experiences, has a great potential to improve well-being of our children around the world. I am confident that we will enjoy these days together here in beautiful Tallinn.

Welcome to all of you.

Merike Martinson MD, PhD

Deputy Mayor of Tallinn
